Rosemary Reilly
March 3, 1932 - April 4, 2023 It is with the heaviest of hearts we write this, Rosemary Reilly, 91, of Simi Valley, CA, passed away on April 4, 2023. She was born on March 3, 1932, in Morristown, Indiana to Vernon and Margaret Huntsinger. Our Mom was a true Matriarch. Rosemary had earned respect and gained the wisdom to enrich her family. Her value was in her very presence. She was a devoted wife for 54 years to Richard Reilly until his untimely passing in 2007. She was THE mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lovingly known as "Mam" and truly lived for her family. She loved us unconditionally and always treated each of us as if we were the only one in her life! Whether she had met you briefly or knew you for years, each person was treated the same loving way. In fact, there are quite a few who have become an official part of the Reilly Family. In addition, Rosemary was also a beloved daughter, sister, Aunt, and cousin and Godmother. Mom had so many wonderful friends and through the years and volunteered at Church, Schools, Scouts, and continued this tradition with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosemary was a remarkable woman who was genuinely loved and adored by all. Rosemary's entire life was dedicated to her children and family. Mom was a Spiritual and Devout woman of God. One of the greatest gifts Mom and Dad gave us children was and is our Catholic Faith and devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Truth be told, their unconditional love, support and their unending forgiveness was their greatest gift to us. Mom would always listen, never judging. Rosemary is survived by her eight living children, Richard Reilly, Sheryl Payne (Bill), Patrick Reilly (Debbie), Timothy Reilly, Catherine Capaldi (Mark), Karen Reilly (deceased 1981), Rosie Grosslight (Greg), Cynthia Reilly (Gary), and Teresa Guzman (Ignacio). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Shelly Smith (Todd), Shealeen, Billy, Garrett Grosslight (Jen), Lauren, Jessica Kovach (Andre), Samantha Lichtner (Nic), Amanda Miller (Jay), Lacy, Tim, Brooke, Blake, and Vince and eleven great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Mya, Malik, Luca, Ryder, Declan, Willa, Kayden, Kylee (infant, deceased) Gavin, Gaige, and Charlie June. Rosemary was an avid reader, she also enjoyed writing short poems. She was an excellent cook her entire life and was famous for her baking, pies, cakes, cookies, well, everything! The family always looked forward to dinner at her house, where she would prepare whatever was requested. Mom enjoyed her sports! Whether it was her own personal bowling she was quite competitive even while watching and cheering on her favorite teams and players in Baseball, Golf, Tennis, Basketball. Mom was lovingly known as a "Baseball Mam" to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. And yes, even texted them while they were in the middle of the game to give her coaching advice. We will love you forever and miss you forever "Mom" aka "Mam." "Until we meet again!" Funeral services were private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rosemary Reilly's name may be made to Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1305 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley, CA 93065. (805) 526-1732
