According to the records of St. Peter's Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro, Frederick County, Maryland, Matilda was baptized July 10, 1814 and sponsored by Julianna Roth. The family moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, where Matilda married Joseph W Crider at the Crider Church near Chambersburg in 1840. She died September 23, 1885 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
