Mazetta D. Carothers, 73, died Monday, October 7, 1996, at Georgetown Manor Nursing Home in Louisville. Mazetta Dean Bell was born November 15, 1922, in Green County, Kentucky, the daughter of Grover and Millie (Jeffries) Bell.

She married George Lee Carothers on July 2, 1947, in Louisville. She was employed as a saleswoman for Sears, Roebuck and Company, until she retired. She was a member of Bicknell Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, George Sr.; two sons, George Carothers Jr., and Charles A. Carothers; two grandchildren; two sisters, Elois Thompson and Lizzie Lee Richardson; and two brothers, Leo and Van (Karen) Bell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lela Jones and Pauline Shuffett and one sister-in-law, Cyrene Bell.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10 and from 11:00 a.m., to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, at the funeral home. Burial Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery Shively, KY.
