After a long battle with dementia and various illnesses, Mrs. Bernice Norsworthy, 58, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her daughter's residence in Albany. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve Waldron and the Rev. Kevin Dawson officiating. Mrs. Norsworthy was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Andy Ferrell, Matthew Fralick, Corey Ferrell, Tyler Ferrell, Cody Smith, Hunter Musgrove, Chris Gaither and Kenny Goforth will serve as pallbearers.

Born June 20, 1964, in Sylvester, Mrs. Norsworthy was the daughter of Bessie Lou Sumler of Tifton and the late Hallie Arthur Rogers. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Ferrell of Tifton and Ricky Peters of Brunswick.

Mrs. Norsworthy loved her children and helped raise many of her daughter's friends as well. She was known as Momma and Grandma to many. She loved fishing and Elvis but not more than sweet tea and 3 Musketeers.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Norsworthy is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle Lewis and Robert Shipes of Omega, Nicole Batten of Tifton and Ashley and Dan Norman of Albany; eight grandchildren, John Lewis, Kelsey Caton, Caydan Brooks, Kylie Lewis, Maddox Barron, Vin Pettiford, Lydia and Judah Norman and also, Lyssi, Saharah, Jaiden, Ezra, Eliza and Emersyn, who called her Grandma, that she loved very much. She is also survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ken Peters, Roy and Stephanie Ferrell and Tina Ferrell, all of Tifton and Laura Peters of Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her Hospice nurses, Loretta and Sabrina and her buddy, Mrs. Tanya for the exceptional care you've given to our mother. We are forever grateful!
