Mrs. Gladys was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ficklin "Buddy" Adkison and Lucy "Hudgins" Adkison; her sister Thelma Adkison Fedeles (George), brothers Charlie (Irene), Roy (Mattie Clyde), Jack (Glenda) and Harold Adkison, who was an Army Ranger, MIA, in Korea; and a very special friend, Edgar Heath.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11 o'clock, in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating. Guests will be greeted by the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russ Morgan, Scott Morgan, W. L. Barden, Gary Herndon, Ronnie Heath, and Bubba Baker.
Born and raised in Langley, South Carolina, Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker before her health declined. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Gloverville First Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, shopping, and was one of the best decorators in the "Valley" during the holidays. Most of all, however, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her two sons, Randy Morgan (Diane), and Ricky Morgan; her grandchildren, Russ Morgan (Lauren), Scott Morgan (Adrienne), and Riki Morgan; her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Cooper, Grace and Tinsley Morgan.
Mrs. Gladys generously made contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, therefore, the family requests that memorials in her honor be made to St. Jude at www.stjude.org.
