Dorothy Deskins

Dorothy Cain Deskins, 96, of Vienna died May 26, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born March 7, 1909, in Glouster, Ohio. She was a daughter of the late Mathias D. and Christine Ross Cain. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 19th Street, Parkersburg, of which she was very active. She was a homemaker; formerly worked at Goodrich Rubber Plant in Akron, Ohio, during the war; and was a former member of the Vienna Women's Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Nelson and husband, Raymond, of New Smyrna, Fla.; a son, James W. Deskins and wife, Carolyn, of Coolville, Ohio; a daughter, Margaret A. Wilcox and husband, Robert, of Mineral Wells; a son, Michael Deskins and wife, Sherry, of Belpre; a daughter, Hanna Myers and husband, Blaine, of Parkersburg; a brother, Neville Cain of Coolville; a sister, Donna Dell of Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Endra Deskins of Lancaster, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston H. Deskins; a son, Ronald E. Deskins; and three brothers, Orville, Willard and Walden Cain.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Ken Nolan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
