Placide Bertrand Funeral Service Held Friday
Funeral services for Placide Bertrand, 75, who died Thursday in his home at Grand Chenier, were held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Cow Island Catholic Church Cemetery. The Rev. Father Theo Hassink officiated.
Burial was under direction of the Theriot Funeral Home of Creole.
Mr. Bertrand was a native of Grand Chenier and had lived there all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Celestine Bertrand; two sons, Edmond and Duperville, both of Grand Chenier; three daughters, Mrs. Emanuel Miller, Mrs. Jeff Nunez, both of Grand Chenier, and Mrs. Henry LeBouef of Sulphur; two brothers, Apolinaire Bertrand of Lake Arthur and Frozan Bertrand of Lake Charles; a nephew, Freeman Bertrand of Lake Arthur; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Edmond and Duperville Bertrand, Jeff Nunez, Henry LeBouef, Emanuel Miller, and Frank Miller.
