ONTARIO— Rosary for Jose Echanis, 82, Ontario, who died Wednesday in an Ontario hospital, will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Bertelson-Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, by the Rev. Gerald Condon. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery, Ontario.
He was born May 5, 1894, in Motrico, Guipuzcoa, Spain. He moved in 1912 to the United States and was in the sheep business all his life until his retirement. He married Timotea Yraguen, March 22, 1935, in Ontario.
He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and BPO Elks Lodge, No. 1690, Ontario.
Surviving are his wife, Ontario; a son, Jose Y., missing in action in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Delores Gianoti, Portland, and Mrs. Kathy Franks, Homedale; two brothers, Lorenzo, Bria, Calif., and Benito, Ontario, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
