Hays -- Robert Roy "Bob" Binder, 70, Hays, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Wichita. Mr. Binder was born May 29, 1928, at Denver.

He was a Korean War veteran. He was a painter and truck driver for Felten Truck Line. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Hays.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; a son, Roy of Hays; five daughters, Denise Thrasher of Maryester, Fla., Rita Campbell, Oletha Binder and Crystal Binder, all of Hays, and Roxie Sioros of Las Vegas; a brother, Charles "Choppie" of Hays; three sisters, Marie Mollecker, Evelyn Amudeson and Ruth Cooper, all of Hays; and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Scully officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars. A vigil will be at 6:15 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hays Medical Center. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.
