Ruth Elaine Cooper, 75, Hays, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Via Christi St. John's of Hays Health Care Center, Hays. She was born April 28, 1935, in Hays to Roy G. and Ida (Rupp) Binder.
She married Gilbert Joseph Dreher in July 1952. He preceded her in death May 9, 2001. She later married Arthur S. "Sam" Cooper on Sept. 15, 1977, in Riverton, Wyo. He preceded her in death July 11, 1998.
She worked in the housekeeping department at Holiday Inn and St. John's of Hays, both of Hays, and retired in 2006. She attended the Catholic church.
Survivors include a son, Gilbert Dreher, Hays; four daughters, Suzie (Dreher) Bieker and husband, Glenn, Russell, Margaret Learned and husband, Tim, Liebenthal, Audrey Cooper , and Samantha Dorzweiler and husband, Nick, all of Hays; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Binder and Charles Binder; and two sisters, Marie Molleker and Evelyn Amundson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd; private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, both at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Cooper family in care of the mortuary.
