Gene was a standout basketball player in school, and continued to play throughout life. At one time, he played semi pro ball for a time. By chance, he met young lady named Cecilia Sue Fixico. They made their home in Cole where they raised two sons, Brian and Darryl. A brick mason by trade, Gene worked for more than 42 years, and mostly for Kern Jervis. Gene worked hard, loved listening to music, eating good food and sipping on a cold beer. Despite many challenges in life, Gene pushed through and overcome them all. He will be dearly missed!
