William F. Mallory Jr., 81, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2003, in his home. He was born April 22, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio to the late William F., Sr. and Olive (Van Wormer) Mallory. For over 40 years, Bill was the owner of Mallory Pattern Works, Inc. until the business was purchased in 1990 by Alan Antoine. He went into the shop each week to see what jobs were in process and to speak to the employees. He was a past member of the Seaway Commanders Maumee Valley Chapter of the SPEBSQSA and the Toledo Chorale Society. Bill was currently a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Gen. James B. McPherson Camp #66. Both of Bill's grandfathers fought in the Civil War for the Union. He was a member of the Buick Club of America, past member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and Choir Director at St. Paul's U.M. Church, Millbury, OH for four years and acted as Assistant Director for the past two years. Bill loved to sing and was a faithful choir member for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice and twin sister, Ella Jean Marley; son, William, III of Burnet, TX; daughters, Susan (Thomas) Schardt, Erie, MI, Melinda (Jeff) Rhodes, Zanesville, OH, Mary Loth, Temperance, MI, Martha (Karl) Miller, Chattanooga, TN, Margaret (Kevin) Morrin, Erie, MI; step daughter, Barbara Myers, Perrysburg, OH, 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Bill in death was his sister, Willa Keeney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, OH from 2 p.m. until the memorial service time at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Dan Schilling officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to the memorial fund of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Millbury, OH.
