The first funeral service in the new United Brethren church will be hedl Monday afternoon at 2:30 oclock when the service attending the demise of John H.Owen will take place in that edifice. Rev.E.H.Shuey pastor of the church will officiate.
John H.Owen,for seven years a brakeman on the Wabash,died at 3:40 oclock Saturday morning at his residence,1507 E.Eldorado street. About two years ago Mr. Owen was injured at Taylorville and he had been in poor health since. Since that time he conducted a small grocery and milk depot at 1511 E.Eldorado street.
He was 34 years old. He leaves his widow to whom he was married 11 years ago last fall, his parents,Mr. and Mrs. Charles Owen and three brothers,Roy P. Owen,Thomas Owen, and Edward Owen, a sister, Mrs. Josephine Davis and two half sisters.
He was a member of the brotherhood of Railway trainmen.Friends wishing to view the remains will call at the residence up to Monday noon.
