Rosary services were held at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Mass services were held at Our Lady of Purificaton Church in Dona Ana. Burial followed at the Dona Ana Cemetery. Rev. Duarte officiated.
Son of Guadelupe Abeyta and Sostena Barela, husband of Sarah Costales.
Mr. Abeyta, a lifelong resident of the Las Cruces and Dona Ana area, was survived by three sons: Ben C. Abeyta, Guadalupe C. Abeyta, and Ramon C. Abeyta, all of Dona Ana; three daughters: Mrs. Alice A. Romero, and Mrs. Emma A. Misquez, both of Dona Ana, and Mrs. Rosa A. Olson of Las Cruces; one sister, Mrs. Maria Vasquez of Dona Ana; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Ramon was preceded in death by his wife Sara Abeyta and his parents.
Pallbearers are Richard Abeyta, Larry Misquez, Fred Baca, Lawrence Sandoval, Mark Olson, and Dick Duran. All are grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are all other grandsons.
