(obt courtesy of Michal S. Caldwell) CHRISTIAN S. NICODEMUS - An aged and respected citzen of the Fith ward, died last evening at 6:30, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H. Alice Champeno, 21 Washington avenue, of diseases incident to age. He was born in Henrietta, Blair county, on Feb. 16, 1832, being aged 81 years, 8 months and 9 days. He had been a resident of this city for upwards of fifty years, having been employed in the P.R.R. freight shop for nearly forty years, until retired in 1901. He was twice married, his first wife preceding him to the grave fifty-six years ago. To this union were born two children, who survive, Mrs. H. Alice Champeno, at whose home he died, and J.C. Nicodemus of Barberton, O. He is also survived by his second wife, Mrs. Susan A. Nicodemus, and one son, Frank B. Nicodemus, of this city. A brother and sister also survive, as follows: Mrs. Sarah Dilling of Hiawatha, Kan., and S.S. Nicodemus of Martinsburg, Pa. He was a charter member of Christ Reformed church and also a charter member of Mountain City lodge, No. 837, I.O.O.F. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with interment in Fairview cemetery. . . F.O. Boulton and sister Mrs. Agnes B. Culp of Pittsburg attended the funeral of their uncle Christian Nicodemus on Saturday. -tcd
