Grant R Christoffersen, 77, passed away peacefully and returned home to his Heavenly Father December 13, 2002, after a battle with cancer.
He was born April 6, 1925 in Tetonia, ID to Ava Gregory and John Christian Christoffersen. He married Colleen Hansen Jan 3, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple, Manti, UT.
Grant was born and raised on a farm with two brothers and two sisters in Tetonia, ID. He served a mission in the Central States mission and received a degree in agriculture from Utah State University. Grant worked summers for the U.S. Forest Service while attending college. He was wounded while serving in the army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. Grant served in many positions in the church that he loved and served for 25 years in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Grant loved the outdoors and never passed up a chance to go fishing with his family and friends.
Surviving family include his wife, Colleen Hansen Christoffersen; sons, John (Cheri), Greg (Cindy); daughters, Elona (Evan) Pickering, Gayla; daughter-in-Law, LaRue; sisters, Fern, Ina; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Bardean; and two brothers, Paul Sr., Vernon.
Services will be Sat. Dec 21, 2002 11 a.m. West Jordan 21st Ward chapel, 7570 S. 2700 W, West Jordan, UT. Friends may call Fri. Dec 20, 2002, 6-8 p.m. Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 S. State, Sandy, UT and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment, West Jordan Cemetery.
