Last Rites were held Monday, December 14 at 2 p.m. in the Burke-Jones Chapel for Mr. J. R. Cathey Sr., age 86, who died Saturday, December 12, 1964 in Wilburton. Rev. B. W Morgan officiated. Burial was at the Damon cemetery under the direction of Burke-Jones Funeral Home.

Mr. Cathey, a retired rancher was born February 17, 1878. Survivors Include, f our daughters, Mrs. Lola Lockerby, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, Mrs. Vera Brown, and Mrs. Hazel Maxwell, all of Wilburton; 4 sons, Wyatt Cathey, Jeff Cathey, J. R. Cathey, Jr., all of Wilburton and J. W. Cathey of Oakland, Calif.

Pallbearers were Dearl Slater, Howard White, Cecil Bullard, Roy Baxter, Clyde Wooldridge, Gene Freeman (WWW.YellCountyObits.org, Submitted by: Patron, 12/12/1964)
