Mildred Marie Fuerniss, daughter of Emil and Augusta (Vesper) Fuerniss was born September 9, 1930, in Delmont, South Dakota. She graduated from Delmont High School in 1949. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Norbert Peters in Delmont. The couple made their home near Delmont where they farmed until moving to Sioux Falls in 1979.
Mildred and Norbert were longtime members of Christ Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, where they enjoyed sharing their gifts of music during worship services. Mildred never missed a birthday or special event. Her special cards will be missed by all. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and playing BINGO. Mildred was very proud of the military service that many family members provided and always had a flag up as tribute to their service. Any time spent with family was cherished. She was the best at making homemade food, treats, and taught her children the art of canning and gardening. Her faith and family meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Augusta; husband, Norbert; brothers, Walter (Sharon) Fuerniss, Herman Fuerniss, and Arnold (Helen) Fuerniss; sister, Lillian (Helmuth) Fauth; three grandchildren, Daniel Hrdlicka, Timothy Hrdlicka, and Lily Peters; and son-in-law, Clifford Hrdlicka.
