Benjamin B. Abbott, Jr., 49, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, March 8, 1996, at St. Joseph Health Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 451 SW 150 Hwy; graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Mr. Abbott was born July 2, 1946, in Clovis, NM. He had lived in the Kansas City area for the past 14 years. He had retired from the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam era. He was a member of the church. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 4398, Richmond, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Monika Abbott, of the home; son, Michael Abbott, Kansas City, MO; son, Rodney Abbott, North Carolina; daughter, Elizabeth Judd, St. David County, AZ; parents, Benjamin and Imogene Abbott, Sr., Knokville, MO; three brothers, Michael B. Abbott, Kansas City, MO, Terry Abbott, Lansing, KS, Gerald Abbott, Boise, ID; four sisters, Barbara Hufford, Independence, MO, Patricia Knight, Grandview, MO, Kathy Hasting, Knokville, MO, Sheryle Hellmich, Homestead, FL; and six granddaughters.
