Garold Lee Abbott and his twin were born on their mother's birthday, July 21, 1964, and Gary passed away on October 24, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, David, his parents, Imogene and Benjamin Abbott, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, all from the Kansas City, Missouri area.
Gary is survived by his wife, Cheryl Durrant and his children: Daniel (husband, Joseph) Turcotte of Layton, Utah, and Matthew Abbott, and Elizabeth "Jayden" Abbott, of Rexburg, Idaho. Gary has 2 grandchildren, Hazel and Henry Turcotte of Layton, Utah. Gary also has 2 brothers and 3 sisters still living also from Missouri.
Gary was married to Cheryl for 28 years and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Gary served his country well in the U.S. Navy and served onboard the USS America during Desert Shield and Desert Storm with his brother. Gary was a kind, sensitive, and loving person and a true pleasure to know. We will miss him so very much.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Rexburg 3rd Ward Chapel.
