Betty Cloud

Betty Mae Dusek Cloud died Jan. 11, 2009, at her home in Greenville following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A loving mother and inspiring person, she was surrounded by family at her death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Gould officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.

There is no scheduled visitation; however, friends may call at the funeral home.

Betty was born May 5, 1932, in Box Elder, Mont., in a farmhouse, the youngest of seven children, to Fred and Pauline Ryal Dusek. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia at the turn of the century.

Betty married James McClintock Cloud on June 5, 1955, in Havre, Mont., moving to Colorado and finally to Greenville where she settled with her family. She and James regularly attended Wesley UMC and were members of the Alpha class and Supremes group.

She is survived by her son, Tim and wife Margrett Cloud of Celeste; daughters Debi and husband Donnie Chapin of Garland, Lorie and husband Mark Wright of Greenville and Mary Ann and husband Alton Thibodeaux of Richardson; seven grandchildren, Melina Waldron and husband Rob, Rachel, Heather and Alex Cloud, and Adam, Ashley and Allen Wright; three great-grandchildren, Haley and Royce Waldron and Brylee Lunceford; four sisters, Rosie Brandt of California, Julia Pleskac and Mary Pleskac of Montana and Lydia Rice of Colorado, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and brothers Jerry and Fred Dusek.

Pallbearers will be Adam, Allen, and Mark Wright, Ed Rice, Donnie Chapin, and Alton Thibodeaux.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley UMC memorial fund or to Women in Need.
