Steve Allen Shockey, age 60 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 22, 2023 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Facility in Kearneysville, WV. Born on November 2, 1962 in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Samuel Woodrow Shockey, Sr. and Katherine Mountvania Shears Shockey. A daughter, Stephanie Strawderman and a brother "Junior" Shockey also preceded him in death. He was a graduate of the Moorefield High School Class of 1981.
Steve worked at A&A Spirit Shoppe in Moorefield, WV for many years and was loved by many customers & co-workers. He loved the outdoors, fishing, sports, and his dogs.
Surviving is a daughter, Shannon M. Shockey of Moorefield, WV; his two grandchildren, Jayce Donahue & Dalton Strawderman; a brother, Arlen "Gene" Shockey of McGaheysville, VA; a sister, Juanita Raines of Moorefield, WV ; a special cousin Carol Watts and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Elijah High Cemetery, US Rt 220, Junction, WV with Pastor Dan Howard officiant. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Sunday at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street.
