Hoyle Phillip Henderson, 84, of Lackey Road, Vale, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his residence.

Born in Cherokee Co., SC on May 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Clinton Pruitt Henderson and Alice Alene Turner Henderson. Mr. Henderson was retired after 27 years of service will Hickory Chair and was a member of North Brook Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Pruitt Henderson and a son, John Henderson.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Wayne Henderson and wife, Cindy of Lincoln County and Phillip Pruitt, Sr. of Shelby; five grandchildren, Austin Henderson, Phillip Pruitt, Jr., Justin Delany, Jessica McCurry and April Lineberger; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Henderson of Lincolnton and Levon Henderson of Cat Square and two sisters, Alene Rudisill of Denver and Verlene Johnson of Cat Square.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at North Brook Baptist Church.

A graveside service will follow at North Brook Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Wise officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the North Brook Baptist Church Cemetery.
