Vi was born to Gertrude Emily May Bailey & Ernest Eugene Bailey in Manitoba the year 1915. One of at least 11 siblings. She was married to Einar Kernested at Vancouver, British Columbia on February 15, 1947 & had an only son in the year 1950. They lived in downtown Vancouver. Viola and Einar divorced date unknown and he was diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
He was placed in a long term care facility called The Holy family Hospital in Vancouver, BC where he suffered a heart attack and passed away in the year 1976.(1902-1976) His parents for future reference Dad John Kernested and mother Svafa Strang as per death cert# 77-09-007658. Brother Franklin Kernested.

Viola lived common law with her partner Frank Herman, where they maintained an apartment building in downtown Vancouver , until he passed away.

Viola was one of the Bailey girls who was the "Life of the Party". Always visiting via train/Bus her siblings back in Manitoba etc.
She spent a lot of time with "Reggie Bailey" her brother George's son as they were both jolly people.

She would spend time at her cabin up in the Squamish, BC area , sitting by the fire, telling of old times. We spent a lot of Xmas's together in Vancouver, with her son at my Grandmother's home. She was always smiling & simply was a very happy lady.

She was very close to her Sister Ruby Velletta Bailey Forsman, as they both lived in Vancouver, BC. She wore assorted wigs, dressed to the nines & was simply a real go getter keeping family close.

Viola, at the end of her life, was placed in a nursing home called The Royal Ascot Care Centre by her son as she could no longer live independently. She passed away in Vancouver, BC Dec 26 1996 and was cremated Jan 8/1997 as per the Vancouver Crematorium. Her ashes were scattered in the Rose garden at Mountainview Cemetery in Vancouver, BC in the year 2010. Mortician could not give me an actual date, but she is there. ****Thank you to Islandergirl, member of fag, for bringing this to my attention. My great Aunt meant the world to me, and I would have gone and gotten her, if I was contacted. She is partying in Heaven with Reggie Bailey now.
