Hiawatha G. Strickland Fowler, 74, died Sunday, February 19, 2023, in Whiteville. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Ed and Janie (Greenwood) Grainger.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Fowler of the home; one son, Garry Strickland (Amy) of Loris; and two grandchildren, Zack and Zoey Strickland. She is also survived by Jerry's children, Melissa Hinson (Ashley), and their children, Kaila and Riley; Becky Myers (Tim) and their daughter, Lindsey and son, Jacob (Kimberly) and their son, Joel; and Chris Fowler and his daughter, Ashley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Horace Strickland, Jr.; three brothers, Dale, Ronald, and Garland Grainer; four sisters, Reba Buffkin, Bernice Causey, Inez Johnson, and Shelvie Fowler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 22 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Kyle Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Spivey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.
