Shelvie Jean was born on September 1, 1939, in Green Sea, SC, daughter of the late Ed Grainger and Janie Greenwood Grainger. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Reba Buffkin, Ronald Grainger, Dale Grainger, Garland Grainger, Inez Johnson, and Bernice Causey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City; Pastor Jonathan Simmons will officiate.
The family will greet friends from 1:00-1:45, prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Eddie & Robin Fowler.
Surviving family includes her loving husband, Thomas Linwood Fowler; children, Frankie Fowler (DeAnn) of Whiteville, Eddie T. Fowler (Robyn) of Chadbourn; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Hiawatha G. Fowler of Whiteville.
