"Also in Session Court Book, 1736, &c. pp52-3, it appears that Jeremiah Hunt gave bonds for fifty pounds, as ferryman from his landing-place on the south side of Merrimack Rover, over Concord River to Chelmsford, thence over Merrimack River to the old landing-place in Dracut, for ten years. He has heretofore kept boats only on the south side of the river; and he is afterward to be provided with a third boat. Page 32: Heirs of Jeremiah Hunt petition to keep the ferry; granted Aug. 30m 1737.
