Dowagiac-Funeral services for Robert Smith 60, 203 Allen St. Dowagiac, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lyon Funeral home, Dowagiac. The Rev. Charles Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Eau Claire Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Kalkaska, Michigan, Feb. 23, 1909, the son of Hayes and Maude Smith. Surviving are his widow Betty Collins whom he married in Dowagiac in 1949. A son Robert Lee and a daughter Mrs. Willard (Lorane Kay) Hall, both of Dowagiac, a step-son Jerry R. Smith of Detroit, a brother, Alvin of Dowagiac, four sisters, Mrs. Eva Walton, Mrs. Myrtle Michael, Mrs. Nina Northrop all of Dowagiac and Mrs. Mary Driesel of Red Rock Okla., one grandchild, three half brothers Claude Smith of Rockford, Ill., Hayes and Joseph Smith both of Chicago and a half sister Mrs. Josephine Smith of Red Rock.
Lorane Smith Hall married (Ismael) Rodriquez, Mary (Smith) Perkins, LaVerde (Smith) Minks and Robert (Anita Stewart) Smith 1951-2009.
