He traveled throughout the United States and later came to Oregon.
In 1950 he married, Polly Elizabeth Fulkerth, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Claude, worked as a (highway) construction worker. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Corvallis. He enjoy collecting old cars and golfing.
He served in the Army Air Corps, World War II.
