Cecelia Ann "C.A." Bowen, 85 of Atchison, KS, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at Amberwell Hospital, Atchison, KS.
Cecelia Ann Evans was born January 7, 1938 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Fay and Masel (McCeary) Evans.
She was a machine operator for Atchison Leather Products for twenty-nine years, along with owning and C&B Used Cars. C.A. also worked at Atchison Laundry. She was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, she enjoyed camping, fishing, birdwatching and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her & Donnie owned many birds over the years. Raising several, the last being two red Macaws that seemed to only love her.
They were a close knit couple and sponsored the Bowen, Goodpasture, Goodman Family Reunion for many years. Always a soft spoken lady, we'll all miss her.
C.A. and Donnie were married on September 18, 1961, in Atchison, he preceded her on October 17, 2017.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Sabrina (Mike) Lasater, Michelle (Brandon) Underwood, and Ryan (Laura) Portenier; eight great grandchildren; Erin and Derrick Hughes, Jacob and Jaysha Portenier, Colin and Ari Lasater, Kerstin and Darrin Schmidt, Lexi Lasater, Kinley Underwood, Kennedy Portenier, Brooklynn Portenier; eight great great grandchildren; Audrey Belveal-Portenier, Levi Schmidt, Abel Portenier, Brynzlee Hughes, Jaxson Hughes, Owen Schmidt, Tatum Schmidt and TJ Portenier; nephew, Larry Blakley; a niece, Sharon Blakley; her care taker, Linda Feek-Benitz; & numerous friends & family.
Cecelia was also preceded by her parents; a son and daughter in law, John Jr. and Teresa Portenier; two sisters, Mildred Surritt and Mereta Huffman.
