Barbara Bell, 82, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, in Gainesville, FL.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East, 3700 SE Hawthorne Rd, Gainesville, Florida, with Pastor Rick Ergle of CrossPoint Church of Melrose officiating.

Barbara Ann Walker Buckhalter Bell was born in Branford, Florida to Lee Royce Walker and Ethel Hazel Walker on May 22,1940. She was raised in Bell, Florida, graduated from Bell High School, and moved to Gainesville, FL to pursue a degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Alachua General Hospital (Gainesville, FL), Putnam Community Medical Center (Palatka, FL), General Electric (Alachua, FL), and North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (Gainesville, FL).

She and her husband owned Bell's Pecan Grove in Melrose, FL for 40 years before relocating back to Gainesville, FL.

Barbara Bell is preceded in death by her father, Lee Royce Walker, mother, Ethel Hazel Walker, husbands, Marvis L. Bell and Raymond W. Buckhalter, and sister Beverly Walker Canon.

Barbara Bell is survived by her daughter, Lisa Buckhalter Boles (Charlie), Gainesville, FL, daughter, Angela Bell Goldberg (Scott), Gainesville, FL, and son, Alex J. Bell (Angelita), Island Grove, FL, as well as, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
