Helena K. Elkins, 69, of Bloomington, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born, January 19, 1939, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Lloyd E. and Mabel A. (Foreman) Grubb.
Helena enjoyed her family, traveling and had retired from General Electric after 18 years of employment.
She was a member of the Shiloh Pentecostal Temple.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, McClellan "JR" Elkins; one daughter, Cindy A. Axsom and her husband, Danny, of Unionville; two sons, Dennis W. Elkins and his wife, Angie, of Smithville, and Bradley J. Elkins and his wife, Sandy, of Nashville; one brother, Donald E. Grubb and his wife, Waneta, of Bloomington; and eight grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Alyssa, Danielle, Elizabeth, Sarah, Bradley and Crystal.
Helena was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Glodene Axsom; and one brother, Charles E. Grubb.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Allen Funeral Home, with Pastors Russell Elkins and Harold Godsey officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
