Robert was the son of Joseph Wright, and Mary King. Robert had 2 blood siblings, Mary (polly) Wright born on July 2nd, 1792 , Not much is known about Mary. Brother John Wright born July 8th 1795 John death 1870 that is what is on his grave stone John married Hannah Wiley and they moved to Coles County Illinois about 1829. Roberts mother Mary King Wright died in 1800. In 1801 his father Joseph married Esther Potts. Robert had a lot of half siblings. Robert and Catherine moved from Campbell County Kentucky around 1850 and settled in Coles County Illinois. According to what June Wrights papers say, in a box at the Coles County Charleston library marked Wright she states that her uncle Charles told her that Robert and Catherine settled 1 mile S of Ashmore Illinois and were buried in the Wells Cemetery. but it does not show up in the Prairie Sleeps Book. It is believed they died from the Cholera outbreak. They had the following children. John Vandyke Wright B: 1829, Joseph Sanford Wright B: 1831, Mary Elizabeth Wright B: 1832, Robert Wright Jr B: 1834, Catherine Jane Wright B: 1836, George H Wright B: 1838, Sara H Wright B: 1840, Patience A. Wright B: 1842, Wesley Wright B: 1845, Clerrissa Emma Wright B: 1846, William Wright B: 1849.
