--GRANDMA ALDAG DIES--A Resident of Nebraska for Forty-Four Years.--Funeral Tuesday.--

"Grandma" Anna Aldag passed away at the home of her daughter southeast of Battle Creek Saturday evening after suffering for some time with complications which terminated in dropsy of the heart. Though she had been confined to her room for several months she was able to leave the bed occassionally and had been entertaining callers a short time before the end came. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Eckhardt at the Battle Creek Heights Lutheran church at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and interment was made at the Battle Creek Lutheran cemetery.
Deceased was born in Hanover, Germany, Sept. 18, 1844, and at time of death was 70 years, 2 months and 3 days old. She came to America and was married to Henry Aldag in Minnesota in 1869 and came to Nebraska with her husband one year later. Two sons and a daughter, John and Henry Aldag and Mrs. John Mozer, survive. Her husband died at the home near Battle Creek in 1906.
The passing of this estimable lady removes another of Battle Creek's pioneers who in the earlier days contributed much to the welfare and happiness of others who alike were struggling to make a home and care for a growing family in the new country.
