Joyce Larsen Palmer

July 20, 1929 — January 19, 2023

Joyce Larsen Palmer, 93, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on January 19, 2023 at Legacy House in South Ogden.

She was the youngest of seven children born in Preston, Idaho on July 20, 1929 to Ervin Hyrum and Lauraine Peterson Larsen.

Joyce attended Preston High School before marrying the love of her life Douglas P. Palmer on May 3, 1945, in Preston, Idaho. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 29, 1955, along with their children. They felt it was a ceremony that should never be forgotten.

They moved to Ogden, Utah where Joyce worked at the Army Supply Depot as an office clerk while her husband Douglas was in the Navy. Joyce was president of the J.C. Ette's, and assisted her husband Doug while he was scoutmaster for five years. She worked at Commercial Security Bank for 13 years.

Joyce and Doug along with their children started Palmer Wholesale Décor, a business that was open for over 50 years where Joyce was the bookkeeper for many of those years.

Joyce always felt her children, Wayne, Karl, Roger and Laura, were her greatest gifts.

She cherished the time they spent together boating, golfing, sightseeing and camping. She always loved anytime she could spend with her family throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas; children, Karl (Judy), Roger (Jan), Laura (Adrian); seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne; daughter-in-law, Judy; her parents; brothers, Melroy and Dennis; sisters, Massell, Ruby, Thelma and Radia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
