Once more we are made to feel sad from the visitations of Thy Hand, and to realize that Thou Art God and beside thee none other, in the death of our dear mamma, Mrs. Julia Barton, who departed this life early on the morning of Oct. 2nd. She was born April 25, 1852, married R. F. Barton in 1871, joined the Baptist Church at Macedonia in 1872, since which time she has lived a consecrated Christian, a devoted companion and loving mother. She has reared eight children, all of whom, with her husband, survive her, except the youngest daughter, who preceded her to the better land sometime ago.
Her remains were interred in the Oak Springs Cemetery amidst a vast throng of sorrowing friends and heart-broken relatives. Rev. J. A. Killingsworth conducted the funeral services.
Her daughter, Vera
