Muncy Valley Hospital Nursing Official Dies
Mrs. F. Isabel Diezel, 66, of Jordan Avenue, Montoursville, died at 4:05 a.m, Monday, November 9, 1970, in the Muncy Valley Hospital. She had been director of nurses there.
She was the widow of Claude Diezel.
Born in Montoursville, she was the daughter of Burr J. and Tule Fowler.
She was graduated in nursing from Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Philadelphia, in 1926. She came to Muncy Valley Hospital in 1952, and was appointed director of nurses a year later. In 1965 she resigned because of ill health, but was retained as head of the medical records department and special adviser to the hospital administrator.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville.
She was a past matron of Monsey Chapter 481, Order of Eastern Star.
She was a past president of the Patriotic Order, Sons of America Auxiliary, Loyalsock Chapter. She was a member of the American Nurses Assn., the Pennsylvania Nurses Assn., and cofounder of the Muncy Valley Area Registered Nurses Assn.
She was also a member.of the Business and Professional Womens Club of Hughesville.
Her only survivors were nieces, nephews.
Her funeral was at Spitler's, 733 East Broad Street, Montoursville, The Reverend William A. Martin, associate pastor of her church, officiating.
Interment was in Montoursville Cemetery.
