Lewistown, IL - Charles S. "Cy" Howe, age 94, of rural Lewistown died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Graham Hospital, Canton.

He was born Nov. 20, 1913, at Isabel Township, Fulton County, the son of Thomas E. and Grace (Long) Howe. He married Nina N. Rose on March 14, 1937, in Astoria, and they were married for 70 years.

She survives along with four sons, Warren (Linda) Howe of Knoxville, Larry Howe of Springfield, Ohio, Terry (Sydney) Howe of Cedarcreek, Mo., and David (Judi) Howe of Lewistown; one sister, Onilee (William) Merrill of Astoria; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Cy was a farmer, and he started farming with horses. He farmed and lived at the same farm for 68 years. He was secretary of the South Fulton School Board for many years and had been the 4-H Leader of the Pacemakers 4-H Club. He was a Hobit Seed Sales Representative for over 30 years.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.
