Bertha "Jean" Britton, 96, joined our Lord after a brief illness on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Jean was born June 15, 1911, in Mineral Wells to Melissa and Eugene Sawyers. The majority of her life was spent in Fort Worth with her beloved husband, David Britton. Arriving in Granbury in 1987, she and David made many friends and enjoyed family. She was the matriarch of a very large family and a beloved companion to her little dachshund named "Dazi" with whom she shared two and a half wonderful years.
Jean will be eternally missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, James O. Dunn; daughter, Delores Mauldin and granddaughter, Linda Bransom.
Survivors: Son, JE Dunn and wife, Laurie of Granbury; daughters, Betty Murphy and husband, Jerry of Azle, Pat Medlen and husband, Bill, also of Azle, Donna Cornum and husband, Tennis of Burleson; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
