Born July 9, 1943 in Monroe she was the daughter of Hilton and Lena (Sottile) Harris. She married Owen Blackmore on November 26, 1960. Joanne attended St. Mary Academy, St. Mary Catholic Church and St Patrick Catholic Church. She volunteered for St. Mary Christian Women Association and Public Television thru Target Volunteers. She also sewed dresses for Hope in Action with the little dresses going to Africa. She always offered support and love for those battling cancer and other illnesses. She belonged to the Monroe Art League, Magic Brush Art Club and 4 Corners Extension Group. Her love of travel led her to visit more then forty countries and she was happiest when cooking for and feeding others. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Joanne was employed for twenty eight years by the J. L .Hudson Company in the Southland Mall in Taylor. Her outgoing personality was an asset to her sales. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of fifty two years Owen, daughters, Lori Blackmore, Lisa (Bill) Hollister and Lynne (Gerald) Potter, former son-in-laws, Daniel Savel and Billy Smith, grandchildren Nicholas (Tiffany) Hollister, Alexandria Hollister, Zachary Hollister, Daniel Savel II, Courtney Savel, Andrew Savel, Chelsey Smith, Spencer Smith and great granddaughter Madison (Sebi), sister, Charlotte (Tom) Tussing, nephews Tom and Tim, sister, Gloria Harris and niece Kati (Chris) Wasner. She was preceded in death by her nephew Kyle who gave her the nickname "Gigi" that she is known by today, her parents, mother and father-in-law Helen and Leonard Blackmore.
