Born Mach 27, 1924, in Magoffin County, Ky., he was the son of Dewey and Gertrude (Gullett) Allen. He retired in 1983 from Inland Container in Middletown. Mr. Allen was a member of Faith Chapel, Farmersville.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Allen; three brothers Bill Allen of Middletown, Rawleigh Allen of Caney, Ky., and Alec Allen of Ashland, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews, including some special nephews, Drew Merrill and Craig Blevins; and great-nephews, Rob Rod and Ron Merrill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Merph, Gene, Cartie and Richard Allen.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 17, at Faith Chapel, Farmersville, with the Rev. Bob Merrill and the Rev. Dean Howard officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
