Marie V. Cavazos, 82, of Texas City, Texas passed away January, 3, 2023, surrounded by family. Marie was born July 7, 1940 to Guadalupe and Edmundo Valadez in Texas City, Texas. She will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Sister and aunt.

Marie was a homemaker who took pride in caring for her family and her many grandchildren. She was also known to have cared for many of our families children. She loved cooking, window shopping, word puzzles but what she loved the most was Gambling!

The game room or any other gambling venue was her get away. She was an avid Astros fan, who got to witness two World Series victories, including most recently in November 2022. Marie loved cheering for her favorite player, Yuli Yuli! You could also hear her say her favorite word, OMG. Marie was a woman of great strength and great faith, who fought as long as she could to stay with us.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Sam Valadez and sisters, Elisa Medina and Rachel Hernandez and the love of her life of forty-four years, Jesus G. Cavazos, Sr.

Mom leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Anna Patina and Rudy, Regina Garza and Henry, Laura Cavazos, Christina Salinas and husband Jesse, Michelle Williams and husband Tabishia; sons, Jesse Cavazos Jr. and Lamar and Steven Ray Cavazos and fiancée, Marie; sister, Irene Navarro; brother, Henry Valadez and wife Eva and, sister-in-law, Theresa Valadez.

Mom also has many grandchildren who will miss her as well: Crystal Sarvis, Chasity Mull, Andrea Patina, Gina Renee Gandara, Ramon Castro Jr, Hector Garza, Gabrielle Odom, Jennifer patina, Monique and Stacie Bahena, Austin Ray Salinas, Brandynn ,Brea and Bryce Williams, Kailynn and Dylan Cavazos. Mom also has twenty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Acting as Pallbearers are Steven Cavazos, Ramon Castro Jr., Hector Garza, Austin Salinas, Brandynn Williams and Bryce Williams. Honorary Pallbearer are Dylan Cavazos and Christopher Ramero.

Guests are invited to share in a Celebration of Life Visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m., followed by 6:00 p.m. Reciting of the Rosary on Sunday, January 8th , 2023, at Carnes Funeral Home – Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, Texas 77573. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9th, 2023, at Carnes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
