TALLMADGE Robert D. Evans, 85, passed away March 1, 2004.

Born in Akron, Mr. Ev ans had lived in Tallmadge since 1957. He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Good year in 1979 with 37 years of service, and was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. He also enjoyed wood working.

He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Mark Evans; grandson, Robert D. Evans III; and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Leona of Tallmadge; daughter, Linda K. Evans-Smith of Santa Fe, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert D. and Marjorie Evans of Ravenswood, W. Va., Ronald D. and Patricia Evans of Mogadore, Michael Evans of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cheryl (Marty) Tibensky of Hartville; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grand children, and four great-great- grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at Evangel Temple, 688 Dan St., with Pastor Michael Mancari officiating. Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. TODAY, March 4, 2004, at Dono van Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave.
