In 1913, she married Columbus Herbert "Cully" Wiesen. They raised a family of six children in Duluth, Minnesota. Their children include, Gerhart (d. in childhood), Mary Jane, Robert Andrew, Dorothy Mae, Donald (d. 1944 in service during WW II) and John Jacob.
In 1929, her dear husband, Cully, died at a very young age. Mary continued raising her family in Duluth as a single mother, residing a few years in Minneapolis. She worked as a linotype operator, then in later years as a teacher, and was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Arcana Chapter of the O.E.S.
In 1944, She remarried to Dewey Hutchison, a widower. Her stepchildren from this union were Howard and Gordon Hutchison. They were married 22 years until Dewey's death in 1966.
Mary died in Evergreen, Washburn County, Wisconsin on February 3, 1972 while visiting her sister Helen on their farm in Spooner. She was 79 years old. Surviving were sons, Robert A. and John J. Wiesin, Duluth; stepsons, Howard, Minneapolis and Gordon Hutchison, Pennsylvania; daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Slowinski, Washington, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Dorfman, Wisconsin; 3 sisters, 1 brother; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Shiloh Bethany Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis with burial in Hillside Cemetery.
