William H. Varker was the son of Thomas Varker b. abt 1800 England and Mary Ann Wright b. Oct 23. 1818 NC. He is the grandson of Richard Wright Jr. and Carey Kittrell.

He was a Private in Co. D, 7th North Carolina Infantry
He died of small pox while a POW.
