Surviving Alan are his children; Jodi Pepper of Galesburg, IL and Jeff (Amy) Pepper of Roseville; grandchildren, Kali, Noah, Tanner, Lilly and Bella all of Roseville; siblings, Sharon (Jerry) Haffner of Canton, IL, Karen (John) Culberton of Canton, Mike (Becky) Pepper of Macomb, IL, and Dale (Amy) Pepper of Lockport; the mother of his children, Deane Hoehn of Knoxville, IL; special friends, Shawn Powell and Marlene Abbott, both of Avon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancée, Beverly Naslund.
Alan graduated from Avon High School and Spoon River College. He loved being behind the wheel of a semi, spending time with his family and friends, and Nascar. He recently retired from Hiel Trucking in Prairie City, as well as working numerous other jobs. Alan was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church and the Avon Fair Board. He was a Vietnam veteran and had recently attended the Quad Cities Honor Flight with his son, Jeff.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Avon United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m.-7:00p.m., Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bond Cemetery, Warren County, IL. Memorials may be made to the Avon United Methodist church or the Quad Cities Honor Flight and left in the care of the funeral home. Wise Family Funeral Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
