Deanna was educated in Waterville schools and continued her education in Augusta at Central Maine Beauty School. While attending school, she worked as a clerk in different stores including LaVerdiere's. After graduating Central Maine Beauty School, Deanna worked for Loreta's Beauty Shop followed by operating and owning her own shop for forty years. During her final fourteen years of employment, Deanna also worked with the elderly and disabled individuals.
In 1964, Deanna married the love of her life, Roger Allarie. They shared 51 years together before his passing in 2015. Together they enjoyed working side by side remodeling and decorating their home. Deanna loved planning, cooking, and interacting with relatives, friends, and especially their siblings and children. Deanna always enjoyed her many travels with Roger as well as attending family events.
Deanna loved to learn. In 1994, Deanna and her husband Roger returned to school and achieved their high school diplomas together. Deanna continued to follow her learning passion by attending Senior College courses.
Deanna was also active in her community as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrews Catholic Church and attending many devotional activities. She was a member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens, Red Hats, and American Mothers. Deanna also loved music and looked forward to Broadway Shows and other performances at music and theatre venues. She always appreciated sharing her love of folk art, decorative painting and her creativity.
Family was Deanna's number one priority. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her son Dan, his wife Sue, her four grandchildren Josh, Brian, Matthew, and Isaac and her very special niece and godchild Beth Higgins and husband Dan. Deanna appreciated all the beautiful family, friends, and people in her life including her brother Clifford Fortier (deceased), sister Joanne LaPointe (deceased), sister-in-law Helen Allarie, and all of her wonderful nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, December 31st from 9-10:30 AM at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Following cremation, burial will be in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta at a later date.
