Barney Leale, 91, a resident of Oakdale, LI for 32 years, passed peacefully on December 24, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Leale served in the US Marine Corps and settled in Malverne where he raised his family. Mr. Leale owned and operated Barney's Cleaners in Queens for nearly thirty years, alongside his wife of 67 years, Anita.
In addition to his wife Anita, Mr. Leale is survived by his two daughters, Lorinda Bauer and her husband Thomas and Annette Rankin and her husband Reed, both of Massapequa, as well as his six grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher (Brittany), Timothy, Mark, Laura and Kayla.
Friends and relatives will gather on Wednesday, December 28th, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29th at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia and interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
