Hilda Denton Lovell of Church Hill, formerly of Newport passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday December 21st 2022.

Born May 26th 1941 Hilda was the 4th of five children born to Hooper Enlow Denton (Dick Denton) and Hazel Lindsey. She grew up on the family farm in the beautiful mountains on Cosby. She enjoyed reading cooking walking trails and playing with baby Jesse her constant companion and best friend.

After graduating from Cosby high School where she played basketball and excelled academically she attended ETSU while there her passion for learning grew never leaving her. Many years past before earning her degree from Tusculum University with honors. She became a young mother and dedicated her life to that.

Her career began at Inca after that she taught at Centerview and Cosby the last job she had was the manager of several unemployment offices. She was especially proud of her work on the Newport planning commission the foster care review board and the Private industry council.

She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Lindsey father Dick Denton son Richard Lovell brother Jesse Denton brother Gordon Denton sister Rita Benson and sister Emma Alley.
