She was a United States Army Nurse and also served with the Embassy Medical Service stationed in Bangkok, Thailand. She was the first Nurse Practitioner in Cocke County having served in the Bogard Clinics and at other health facilities.
She was a member of Caton's Grove United Methodist Church and attended Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Alley; parents Hooper “Dick” and Jessie Hazel Denton; sister Rita Denton Vinson and brothers Jessie Denton and Gordon B. Denton.
Survivors include her son Chip Alley, daughter Tara Elizabeth Alley and granddaughter Sloan Emma Alley; sister Hilda Lovell.
The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, September 6, 2019 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Clevenger and Elder Maurice Shults officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, September 6, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery for the 10:45 a.m. interment.
